Trunks x Pan

"This story began with a chance encounter long ago and now we have come at last to the presant. From now on, you'll have to see their world with your own eyes, but maybe that will be even more fun!" ~Akira Toriyama

I know this couple isn't an official pairing. It was never meant to be canon and never will be. Ask me if I care. I'll pair up whoever I want to pair up. It's just a cartoon(so get over it fanboys/girls) :P

There is a big age difference, but I have my reasons.

Trunks is one guy that will never have to worry about not having a date; he's handsome, intelligent, caring, not to mention rich. So why is he still single? How many of those girls, who are constantly drooling over him wherever he goes, would love him for reasons other than his money, high position, and good looks? Not many.

Let's move on to Pan. She is a girl who doesn't appear to have a problem getting dates(That's right people, unlike Bra and Marron, Pan is actually seen on a date and it's implied that she's been on more than one), keeping them is another story. In the first episode of GT, Pan is seen on a date with a dark-haired boy around her age.. Everything seems to be going fine until Pan starts kicking some criminal ass. Of course he runs away screaming. Pan doesn't have a bad personality or bad looks, she's just a bit out of the ordinary. She's a million times stronger than any human and isn't afraid to show it. She's in the same boat as Trunks. People just can't see behind those things.

Now what about their personalities? Many people will tell you that "opposites attract." Well that's not entirely true if you ask me. For a couple's relationship to work out there need to be both similarities and differences. If two people are too different, they'll simply end up arguing and fighting all the time. They won't be able to understand each other at all. On the other hand, differences can help bring out a new side to a person's personality.

Trunks and Pan appear to be completely different. Trunks is good mannered and polite whereas Pan is brash and loud. While it looks as though Trunks has gone through a dramatic change from that of the 8 year old we used to know, he really isn't all that different. He's still spoiled and childish. He sneaks out of his company's important meetings, ignores his schedule, and puts off his paperwork. He obviously still wants adventure in his life. The only difference is that he is now 28 and obvious has to begin acting more responsibility.

Pan, as we all know, shares the same childish love for adventure. They are also both very caring individuals. We learn this throughout their adventure in space. Pan puts it on herself to help everyone she meets and, although hesitant at first, Trunks does everything in his power to help out as well (even cross dress) The reason he worries so much is because he cares about his friends.

Not only that but their differences would bring out the best in each other. Trunks' can bring out the more feminine side of Pan while Pan can bring out the fighter and adventurous side of Trunks that disappeared as he grew up.

Pan is an independent girl, she's not the type to become a boring housewife. She needs to have her freedom and at the same time have someone to be there for her. Trunks, having given up on fighting to take over his family's company, would always be around to take care of her and deal with matters at home. I think that Trunks would be able to understand her and re-assure her better than anyone. After all, he was the one who re-assured Pan that everything would be alright when Goku left at the end of GT.

They're both rich and famous(Trunks is the president of Capsule Corp and Pan is the granddaughter of the "legendary" Mr. Satan lol), so Pan wouldn't have any interest in his money or status.

Trunks is 28 and Pan is 14 so it's obvious why this couple gets a lot of criticism.

I'm not saying that Trunks is going to fall madly in love with her right away. I like their relationship the way it is now. He sees her as a "little sister" and she has a bit of a "schoolgirl" crush on him. Doesn't mean that can't change in a few years. I personally know people who have parents who are 13-14 years apart. In about 4 years Pan would be 18, no one could whine about "omigawd pedofilia." I don't understand why so many TM and UP shippers use that excuse. Marron was 13 when Trunks was 18 at the end of Z and Uub is 20 and Pan is 14 in GT. Same situation, but noooo, TP is the only pedo couple here. :P

Besides, Sayians doesn't age as fast as a normal human and Trunks is half Sayian. If you had seen GT for the first time without knowing anything about it, would you think Trunks was 28? He looks more like 17-18 to me.

..and as much as I hate to use cliche phrases, L-o-v-e is not spelled a-g-e. It won't matter when their older. Love also does not mean sex. Couples like Yoh and Anna in Shaman King(both around 12-13 years old) and Sakura and Syoaran in Cardcaptor Sakura(also around 12-13 years old) are canon and heavily supported but no one complains about those pairings.

TP haters often bring up the excuse that Vegeta would never let his son marry one of his rival's grandchildren. Well if you've been paying attention, Vegeta let go of his hatred for Goku a long time ago. He admitted he was number one. He never stopped trying to surpass him, but only to better himself. Goku is his friend and his rival. He has nothing against Pan, she even inspired him to enter the Tenkaichi Budokai again when she was 4. I'm sure he'd prefer if his son married a saiyan girl rather than some random weak human girl he hardly knows. People say Gohan would kill Trunks, but why? He's known Trunks since the day he was born, I'm sure there's no one out there who he could trust more with his daughter. Same situation with Goten and I'm sure Bra would enjoy having her best friend as a sister-in-law.
